Font-size correction for un-transformed *SCS spooled-files
When the control "Use OS400 dims?", on the [Convert] tab of the
configuration and
markup forms,
is set to
YES and the OS400 output-queue is
configured to send a spooled-file and
its attributes, then both the size of the font and the size of the page is specified by
these attributes, therefore page and font size controls have
no effect.
When the control "Use OS400 dims?" is set to
NO or when the spooled-file does
not
contain OS400 attributes, then the following controls on the the
[Paper] tab of the
configuration and markup forms determine page-size, page-margins and font-size.
The selected size of the font will be automatically corrected so that the spooled-file text
can fit completely within the selected page. Font-size correction can be modified
by specifying values for the [Paper] tab of a markup form. In situations where the
same OS400 program may produce spooled-files with varying number of text rows and/or columns,
you will find that PDFing reduces font-sizes by different amounts for different spooled-files
and this may cause constant-text or graphic-images on the page to be misaligned relative to
the text. For such spooled-files, values specified for the "Maximum rows" and
"Maximum columns" controls will cause the font-size to be corrected identically for
all spooled-files selecting this markup and this makes it easier to place constant-text or
graphic-images relative to the text.
Font-size correction may be switched off and exact font-sizes may be specified
by setting the control "V1 compatible" to YES, which displays the relevant
controls.
The size of the font is determined by the font-size controls page-controls on the
[Paper] tab of the configuration form. By default, landscape spooled-files
with between 1 and 132 columns of text select a font of 6 lines per inch (LPI) and
10 characters per inch (CPI) and those with between 133 and 198 columns select a
font of 6 LPI and 15 CPI. Portrait spooled-files with between 1 and 82 columns of
text select a font of 6 LPI and 10 CPI and those with between 82 and 100 text columns
select a font of 6 LPI and 15 CPI. These font-size defaults may be reviewed and changed
by setting the control "V1 compatible" to YES, which will display the relevant
controls. The selected font-size may be overridden by specifying values for the
[Paper] tab of a markup form.
