This document describes how to enter license-keys issued for use with PDFing. See our support documentation for information about buying license-keys .


Once you have purchased the "interactive" version of PDFing, you will receive a license-key. To enter this license-key, go to the [System] page of the PDFing configuration form and enter the key in the edit-box labelled "Interactive key", as shown below:

When you exit this control or click on the Save button, you will see the contents of this edit-box change to show the name of the person or company that licensed PDFing.

Your copy of PDFing will now run interactively, without any limitations.
If you do not see the correct name, then the license-key is invalid and you should contact PDFing to receive a valid license-key or to find out the cause of this problem.


Once you have purchased the "NT Service" version of PDFing, you will receive an additional license-key. To enter this license-key, go to the [System] page of the PDFing configuration form and enter the key in the edit-box labelled "Service key", as shown below:

When you exit this control or click on the Save button, you will see the contents of this edit-box change to show the name of the person or company that licensed PDFing.

Your copy of PDFing will now run as an NT Service or interactively, without any limitations.
If you do not see the correct name, then the license-key is invalid and you should contact PDFing to receive a valid license-key or to find out the cause of this problem. The most common cause of problems are that you have not entered your interactive license-key first or that you have used different "licensed-to" name when purchasing the NT Service license-key.


Once you have licensed the printing and digital-signing features of PDFing, you will receive an additional license-key. To enter this license-key, go to the [System] page of the PDFing configuration form and enter the key in the edit-box labelled "Printing/Signing key", as shown below:

When you exit this control or click on the Save button, you will see the contents of this edit-box change to show the name of the person or company that licensed PDFing.

Your copy of PDFing will now be able to print and sign PDF files, without any limitations.
If you do not see the correct name, then the license-key is invalid and you should contact PDFing to receive a valid license-key or to find out the cause of this problem. The most common cause of problems are that you have not entered your interactive license-key first or that you have used different "licensed-to" name when purchasing the NT Service license-key.


Once the initial year of support and free upgrades has expired and you have purchased another year of "Upgrade/Support" for PDFing, you will receive an additional license-key.
You will not need to enter this license-key until the initial year of support and free upgrades has expired and you will not see the edit-box labelled "Upgrade key", until that time. To enter this license-key, go to the [System] page of the PDFing configuration form and enter the key in the edit-box labelled "Upgrade key", as shown below:

When you exit this control or click on the Save button, you will see the contents of this edit-box change to show the name of the person or company that licensed PDFing.

If your current license-key was not valid for this version of PDFing, your copy of PDFing will now run as a licensed version, as before.
If you do not see the correct name, then the license-key is invalid and you should contact PDFing to receive a valid license-key or to find out the cause of this problem. The most common cause of problems is that you have used different "licensed-to" name when purchasing the Upgrades/Support License-key.


If you have already applied an "Upgrade/Support" license-key for PDFing, and you have renewed this license for another year. you will receive an additional license-key.
You will not need to enter this license-key until the current year of support and free upgrades has expired and you will not see the edit-box labelled "Next upgrade key", until that time. To enter this license-key, go to the [System] page of the PDFing configuration form and enter the key in the edit-box labelled "Upgrade key", as shown below:

When you exit this control or click on the Save button, this edit-box will just disappear. If your current license-key was not valid for this version of PDFing, your copy of PDFing will now run as a licensed version, as before.
If this edit-box does not disappear, then the license-key is invalid and you should contact PDFing to receive a valid license-key or to find out the cause of this problem. The most common cause of problems is that you have used different "licensed-to" name when purchasing the Upgrades/Support License-key.
