PDFING NEWSLETTER NO 10 - 16th February 2004 ============================================ Thanks to all our customers for making our start to the New Year the most promising so far! This email is just a follow-up to our earlier announcement of version 3. The big news is that the re-design of our web-site at: http://www.pdfing.com is finally complete. Please can you take a look at it and tell us what you think? I am sure there are typos and broken-links and we need to know about such problems as soon as possible. We have tried to make the web-site much easier to navigate and have updated all information to reflect the new features in version 3 of PDFing. In particular, we hope that you will find the programming information much more complete and readable. We have added the google search form to our index page but we should warn you that google has not yet "spidered" the new site and the search results are completely out of date. Because search-engines are so important for us, we are eager to swap links with as many sites as possible. In our experience, we get a great deal of traffic from links on our partner's web-pages and we suspect that such hits are the most valuable! Please let us know if swapping links with you is a possibility and we can then discuss link placement, logos and terms. Since it was released in December 2003, PDFing V3 has had a few improvements. In particular we have made the "bursting" and "bookmarking" features easier to use. We have also "tweaked" PDFing's use of TCP/IP sockets so that the delays that sometimes occurred when processing many small spooled-files have been eliminated. You can download the "windows installer file" for PDFing V3.0.0.6 from http://www.pdfing.com/down/pdfing.msi We are sorry to have to tell you that the documentation of the new Excel output feature is still not complete. However, this is the very next task on our list! As ever, we are always pleased to listen to your ideas and suggestions. You can see the results of some of your ideas in the new features of V3, so please keep the ideas coming! Regards David Fowle and Jane Hearn
